XO Balm – Natural Care For Stressed Skin

About the brand

The Name: XO Balm was named after exo = outside of the body, XOXO = hugs and kisses, as well as Roman numerals X(10)0 = 100 uses.

The Logo: XO Balm wanted to be cute as a button, literally.

The Philosophy: XO Balm does not sacrifice product efficacy for texture, feel or fragrance. The scent is only of the natural beeswax and oils to avoid stressing the skin. The formula is concentrated on active ingredients, no filler, so a little goes a long way! If it is a little cold, the balm may firm up, use the spatula provided to remove the amount you need and it will warm up in the hand.

Consideration of the three pillars for sustainability; environmental, social and economic, is built into the XO Balm business plan. These sustainability practices are an important part of the XO Balm business, to help people, protect resources and prepare for the future.

XO Balm has supported local UK businesses, with packaging components, ingredients, testing and manufacturing all sourced from smaller UK suppliers. We are also an ongoing supporter of the Oxfordshire charity Give Bees a Chance, who’s work allows healthy bee populations to live and grow.

The Packaging: It was important XO Balm had functional and attractive packaging.

The mirror in the lid is perfect for an on-the-go bag solution, while the tin is hardwearing, the colours unisex, and the logo not overly branded. The dimensions of the tin were designed specifically to fit through a postbox, enabling us to offer free shipping in the UK and no missed delivery cards!

The shipping box of XO Balm aims to be as environmentally-friendly as possible; the cardboard is completely recyclable, the packing material is simply shredded waste paper, all transactional information is sent online to avoid unnecessary printing, and the aluminium tins are designed to be reused.

Protecting the environment is important to XO Balm. We aim to reduce, reuse and recycle:

Reduce: Instead of buying packing materials, we use shredded paper and newspapers

Reuse: The tin; once your product is finished the tin can be reused to hold small items

Recycle: We invite you to put your outer cardboard packaging in the recycling.

Having years and years of struggling with reactive sensitive skin to get the opportunity to test out XO Balm was an exciting prospect, my skin problems started at around the age of 14 years old such as Acne / Eczema and generally having problematic skin all round to be honest.

My skin can get me down so much even searching all over shop plus sites just to see if anything could help me, I have had so many products over the past some have been OK and others not so, in my daily skincare routine I do tend to use a few brands as this tends to work best for me.

When receiving OX Balm you do notice the cool branding of the product not only that but like the fact you can pop this in your handbag or around with you on your travels too. The balm is fixed into the tin so you need to use the little scoop that comes with the balm to get some out, when you have done this you simply need to warm it a little in your hands and apply.

Having a brand that has natural ingredients is a massive thumbs up as sensitive skin needs natural and healing properties with simplicity and that is what you will get from this brand.

How these ingredients can benefit you!

Chia Seed Oil –   The oil extracted from chia seeds has incredible beauty benefits. Not only are they rich in precious omega-3 fatty acids, but they’re also intensely anti-inflammatory, calming and antioxidant-rich. … Chia oil is a great bet for restoring vital moisture, diminishing redness and inhibiting the appearance of wrinkles.

Coconut oil- used in many natural beauty products, and for good reason: It’s naturally antibacterial and antifungal, coconut oil for skin is an excellent moisturizer.

Beeswax – used in many skin care products because it provides a protection against irritants while still allowing the skin to breathe. It also offers anti-inflammatory, antibacterial andantiviral benefits making it helpful in treating skin irritation.

live oil- is packed with anti-aging antioxidants and hydrating squalene, making it superb for hair, skin, and nails.

Having been using the balm over a good few weeks in my honest opinion it has helped with the redness of my skin and not getting as many breakouts plus reactions so very happy at the moment and can only get even better with more time. Texture is very nice and light weight perfect for mornings and evenings too, and remember you can use the balm also on your body plus hair and nails.

Highly creditable balm that can help calm skin situations down with the added bonus of been a very unisex product.

£12.50 is a reasonable price for the full items or you can even try a sample for around £2.50
